LTBI Program

The Long Term Behavioral Intervention Program is for students who have experienced a significant problem with the discipline policies and procedures at Brushton-Moira Central School District.

The student will be removed from the traditional classroom setting and placed in an isolated environment within the building.  Highly qualified and certified teachers provide intense instruction with more one to one attention and less distraction.  The instructions obtain assignments from the students scheduled classroom teachers.  In school counseling is available.  The student will not be allowed to participate in the general social climate of school during lunch periods and between classes.  The student will eat lunch in a separate room and is not allowed to move in the halls during passing bells.

A student is placed in the program for as long as it takes to show a change in his/her behavior.  After a minimum of 30 days, the teachers involved in the instruction of the student could recommend to the building administrator reinstatement to the normal school program.

The length of this placement is in accordance with the decision of the Building Principal or Superintendent of Schools.  This program will continue to encourage and support your involvement in the education of your child.  It is the responsibility of your son or daughter to bring school materials, to include pen and pencil, notebooks and textbooks to the Program site during his or her placement.
